Live in two minutes. Really.
Viz is a standard WordPress plugin - no build step, no server access needed, nothing to configure before it works. Here's the whole setup, start to finish.
Create your free account
Sign up at app.vizwp.com. No credit card - the free plan covers one site, forever, and gives you the activation key the plugin needs.
Download & upload the plugin
Download the plugin zip from your dashboard, then in wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, and click Install Now.
Activate & connect
Activate the plugin and paste your activation key when prompted. Viz logs nothing until it's connected - one free key covers one website.
Watch the data arrive
A Viz menu appears in wp-admin with your Analytics dashboard, Request Log, and AI Control. Data shows up from the very first request - most sites see their first AI bot within the hour.
Tune it (optional)
In Viz → Settings: toggle whether human visitors are logged, exclude logged-in admins, set proxy trust if you're behind Cloudflare so IPs resolve correctly, and control your retention window.
Requirements & the fine print
Requirements
WordPress 5.8 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. Works with any theme and any hosting - shared, managed, or your own server.
Performance
The full logging pipeline adds about 2ms per request. If your database grows past 50 MB of Viz data, the plugin warns you and helps you trim retention.
Caching & CDNs
Viz sees every request that reaches WordPress. If a full-page cache or CDN serves a hit without running PHP, that request isn't logged - and a blocked bot could slip through. The built-in probe on the AI Control page detects this and gives you copy-paste .htaccess or Cloudflare rules to close the gap at the edge.
Your data
Everything is written to your own WordPress database first. Cloud sync to your Viz dashboard is controlled in Settings, and you can purge all local data with one click. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
Seeing no data?
Check that your activation key is connected (Viz → Settings), and that a full-page cache isn't serving every request. Still stuck? Email shikhar@sortcamp.com - real humans read it.
Clean uninstall
Deactivate and delete like any plugin. Viz ships an uninstall routine that removes its tables and settings - no orphaned data left behind.
